Fly: Back In History first began when I  moved to Fly, Tennessee.  Over and over again I was told wonderful stories of growing up in the area: Traveling to Nashville by horseback via the old Charlotte Pike, riding burros to the school-house, and picking tobacco in the fields.  Everytime I heard one of those stories I told myself “I have got to write that down”, and of course I never did.  So here I am on a quest to write down all those fabulous stories.

Fly: Back In History is an oral history project collecting historical experiences and old photos from  Fly, Tennessee and its surrounding communities.  So much history lies in this area from the McKnight Station Train Depot to the Fly General Store, Middle Tennessee Railroad, farming, events, family gatherings, schoolhouses, traditions and cultures and much, much more.

Fly:Back In History is searching for those historical experiences and old photos to record which will be posted on this site for our communities and visitors to enjoy.  Please share with me some your stories and photos, and help me on this quest.  For more information on how to participate in the Fly:Back In History project click on the Participate tab above.
